golf Etiquette
At San Lorenzo Golf Course, excellence is not only found in the landscape and design — it is reflected in the way the game is played. In the heart of the Ria Formosa Natural Reserve, we invite all golfers to uphold the traditions of the sport by observing a standard of etiquette that reflects the prestige and tranquillity of our setting.
By respecting these principles, you help preserve not only the course, but also the spirit of San Lorenzo — where golf is not merely played, but truly experienced
A sense of occasion is part of every round at San Lorenzo. Collared shirts, tailored trousers or shorts, and soft-spike golf shoes are required. Denim, swimwear, and athletic wear not designed for golf are not permitted. In the clubhouse, a smart-casual dress code applies at all times
We ask all players to maintain a steady rhythm for an enjoyable flow of play. Be prepared when it is your turn, remain in pace with the group ahead, and courteously allow faster groups to play through
Our course is a sanctuary — both for those who play it and for the wildlife that inhabits it. Please repair divots and pitch marks, rake bunkers after use, and keep carts on designated paths
Golf is a game of respect. Maintain silence and stillness when others prepare to play, keep mobile phones on silent, and remain mindful of fellow players
Ensure the area ahead is clear before taking a shot, call “fore” if your ball travels toward another group, and never play when there is risk to others
Follow all signage and staff instructions regarding trolley and buggy use. Refrain from driving on greens, tees, or sensitive terrain, especially during wet conditions
